Cooper University Health Care and Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) are actively committed to diversity at all levels of the organization and are seeking a Board Certified/Eligible pediatrician to join our Pediatric Hospital Medicine faculty at Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper.
This is a full-time clinical position responsible for overseeing and coordinating all admissions and consultations to the Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) service of Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper. Join a team of two full-time PHM physicians and a small group of cross-covering general pediatric and Med/Peds physicians providing care for children on the inpatient pediatric floor and pediatric step-down unit.
Attendings lead a team of pediatric residents who staff the units 24/7
Day shift is in-house and includes multidisciplinary family-centered bedside teaching rounds
Night shift is call from home with closed loop communication between the hospital medicine attending, in-house senior resident, and the PICU team.
Position also requires limited coverage of the full-term nursery; no delivery coverage.
Responsibilities include provision and supervision of quality patient care, education of medical students and pediatric residents including modeling of evidence-based practice, and active participation in performance and quality improvement projects performed in conjunction with our PICU and Pediatric Emergency Medicine teams. The practice enjoys a strong relationship with a variety of services including pediatric subspecialties, pediatric surgery, trauma surgery, otolaryngology, and psychiatry. Employment includes an academic appointment with CMSRU, commensurate with academic and research experience.
