MaineHealth, the largest health care system in Maine is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Gastroenterologist and another Gastroenterologist with a focus on IBD, to join a team of 5 gastroenterologists, 1 transplant hepatologist and 10 advanced care providers in its Southern Region, an area supported by Southern Maine Health Care and Maine Medical Center.
In addition to providing inpatient and outpatient consultation at Southern Maine Health Care, a non-profit, full-service community hospital in Biddeford Maine with 125 acute care beds and Maine Medical Center, a tertiary care teaching hospital with 700 acute care beds and level 1 trauma center in Portland Maine, there are opportunities to provide clinical instruction to students from the University of New England and Tufts University medical schools, internal medicine residents and advanced practice providers. Additional opportunities will include joining the core faculty for a GI fellowship, currently under development, and participating in clinical research activities through the MaineHealth Institute for Research.
