This position manages and guides, through operational oversight, the Hospitals Office of Research Operations to ensure compliance with required federal, state, and all other applicable governing regulations, requirements, and standards. Manages the operational management of hospital research activities and programs including research policies and procedures. Responsible for on-going quality assurance to ensure Good Clinical Practice and adherence to FDA regulations.
This position reports to the Director of Research. This position may receive requests or assignments from a variety of investigators as part of projects. Reporting to this position are: Research Nurses, Clinical Research Coordinators, Hem/Onc Research Supervisor, and Critical Care Research Supervisor.
Bachelors or Masters Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university. (Required)
One (1) or more years of leadership experience. (Required)
Three (3) or more years of experience in human subject protection administration. (Required)
Experience in obtaining and administering extramural funds. (Preferred)
Experience in sponsored program administration that includes responsibility for conduct and management of human research. (Preferred)
Experience planning and conducting training programs for investigators and staff. (Preferred)
Experience with IRB federal requirements and sponsored research. (Preferred)
Experience with sponsored programs and clinical trials compliance issues. (Preferred)
Experience with the Code of Federal Regulations, Common Rule and HIPAA regulations for research. (Preferred)
Current RN license from Arizona or other compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
