 The University of Minnesota Department of Pediatrics seeks a Pediatric Cardiologist specializing in Electrophysiology for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Pediatrics Cardiology.&#xa0; The rank of this position is at the level of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on  qualifications.&#xa0; 
 About the Department : 
 The Pediatric Cardiology Department offers a collaborative group with great support in the lab by our interventional cardiologists (including joint procedures) and the Adult Electrophysiology  service,&#xa0;including  weekly lectures. Our Electrophysiology lab offers the most up-to-date Ensite (Navyx) 3-dimensional mapping system and a staff capable of supporting everything from complex ablations to leadless pacemaker and subcutaneous ICD implantations. The lab also supports the highest continental volume of pediatric leadless pacemaker and regional volume of subcutaneous ICD implantations, including a good relationship with our regional anesthesia team. Our EP team is well-versed with  minimal&#xa0;fluoroscopy  techniques, including using the 3-dimensional mapping system to minimize fluoroscopy during His-bundle pacemaker placements. The clinic device team also  supports&#xa0;devices  from all vendors. 
 The University of Minnesota and Department of Pediatrics offer many start-up grants to help develop the research careers of junior or senior faculty.&#xa0; 
 A strong pediatric cardiology fellowship program is also an integral part of the Pediatric Cardiology group including many opportunities to teach and mentor clinically and in research endeavors. 
 About the Appointment: 
 
 The candidate will be responsible for performing invasive and non-invasive electrophysiology evaluations and procedures as well as providing medical treatment for arrhythmias. 
 There will be oversight responsibility for Pediatric Electrocardiography including Holter monitors and event monitor records. 
 Besides the University of Minnesota system, there is a busy outreach system for electrocardiograms, Holters and even monitor tracings from other Twin Cities institutions and from greater Minnesota. 
 The potential opportunity exists to interface with a busy Adult Electrophysiology service with intense research and clinical activity.&#xa0; 
 Opportunities also exist for outreach electrophysiology activities within the state and out of state. 
 The candidate may also participate in inpatient attending activities and outpatient clinics. 
 Additional responsibilities will include: participation in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, clinical practice through UMPhysicians, and participation in service activities on behalf of the department, the medical school, and your profession. 
 The successful candidate will participate in research projects and other academic/scholarly activities either as a collaborator or independent researcher, and participate in faculty development activities tailored to the candidate&#39;s career interests and goals.

 Connecticut Children&#8217;s is the state&#8217;s only stand-alone children&#8217;s hospital.  The clinic in Fairfield County is critical to the clinical growth strategy for Connecticut Children&#8217;s gastroenterology service and will serve as an anchor program for the brand, with a reach of approximately 1.5 million pediatric patient lives. 
 The hospital has initiated building out a new multi-specialty clinic in Westport, CT that will house new office space for multiple specialties, procedure rooms and an infusion suite; plus, an ambulatory surgical center just minutes from the clinic. The joining provider will participate in divisional educational programs and be well supported with faculty outreach and division designated ancillary support, including nurses and MAs. There will be opportunities to participate in clinical research. 
 The selected physician will work closely with the division chief to build on Connecticut Children&#8217;s established presence in the region and be expected to function at a high level establishing the framework of the Westport practice within the framework of a larger program, serving as the first full-time  outpatient gastroenterologist  in southern Connecticut. Call responsibility will be limited to sharing weekend coverage with 9 other pediatric gastroenterologists with appropriate back up for emergencies. There will be no weekday or night call. 
 Medical directorship appointment will be considered after one year of faculty service in Westport. 
 The joining provider will hold an appointment at UCONN School of Medicine and be part of a flourishing division of 10 gastroenterologists, which is the largest program in CT, accounting for 15,000 ambulatory visits per year, approximately 2000 endoscopic procedures per year, 7 offices in CT, 12-year-old fellowship program and NIH funded research since 2011.

 The 212-bed UMMCH receives tertiary referrals from throughout the state. The Division of Pulmonology &#38; Sleep Medicine has a current complement of 4 clinically active faculty members, 1 nurse practitioners, 1 social workers, 1 dedicated nutritionist, and 1 respiratory therapist. The Division has an ACGME-accredited fellowship program. Diagnostic services include expanding pulmonary function and exercise laboratories and flexible bronchoscopy program. There are active programs in cystic fibrosis (including a fully accredited CF Center, multicenter clinical trial participation via a Therapeutics Development Center, and investigator-initiated research through internally and externally funded grants), neuromuscular, tracheostomy and ventilator dependent, children. We collaborate closely with Neonatology during discharge planning for technology dependent children. Our Sleep Medicine Program includes a sleep lab.  The clinical program at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children&#8217;s Hospital (UMMCH) is a free-standing hospital recognized as the second largest unrelated donor transplant program in the country, and one of the largest umbilical cord blood transplant centers worldwide.&#xa0; The program performs and average of 85 transplants annually in addition to gene therapy and CAR-T cell therapy trials. The pediatric program works closely with the adult program and combined we have over 50 open clinical trials. Our adult practice includes the full spectrum of interventional radiology procedures including oncologic, hepatobiliary and portal, transplant, dialysis, treatment of pulmonary embolism including an active PERT team, non-vascular, venous, PAE, PAD, and women&#8217;s interventions. The University of Minnesota Department of Interventional Radiology boasts a long history of innovation in the field by pioneers in the specialty including Dr. Kurt Amplatz. We are actively involved in several multicenter trials. Our team&#39;s top focus is to provide the highest quality, evidence-based patient care. 
 Educational responsibilities will include teaching at all levels within a large academic center, including medical student, resident and fellow training.  Prior to the start of employment qualified individuals must: 1) be American Board of Radiology certified or eligible, 2) have completed a pediatric vascular /interventional radiology fellowship or IR/DR residency with significant pediatric IR training, preferably fellow level, and 3) be eligible for medical license in the state of Minnesota.&#xa0; Assessment of applications will consider applicants with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Vascular Interventional Radiology or IR/DR Certification.  Candidates can also participate in adult interventional radiology procedures dependent on training and experience. Our adult practice includes the full spectrum of interventional radiology procedures including oncologic, hepatobiliary and portal, transplant, dialysis, treatment of pulmonary embolism including an active PERT team, non-vascular, venous, PAE, PAD, and women&#8217;s interventions. The University of Minnesota Department of Interventional Radiology boasts a long history of innovation in the field by pioneers in the specialty including Dr. Kurt Amplatz. We are actively involved in several multicenter trials. Our team&#39;s top focus is to provide the highest quality, evidence-based patient care. 
 Educational responsibilities will include teaching at all levels within a large academic center, including medical student, resident and fellow training. Faculty members have dedicated academic time with opportunities available to develop research and clinical interests in collaboration with the Department of Radiology in addition to other clinical divisions. 
 Prior to the start of employment qualified individuals must: 1) be American Board of Radiology certified or eligible, 2) have completed a pediatric vascular /interventional radiology fellowship or IR/DR residency with significant pediatric IR training, preferably fellow level, and 3) be eligible for medical license in the state of Minnesota.&#xa0; Assessment of applications will consider applicants with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Vascular Interventional Radiology or IR/DR Certification. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in Pediatric Interventional Radiology. The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.  The candidate will work in an outpatient pediatric teaching practice at a hospital-based academic teaching center. The successful candidate will assume a panel of general pediatric patients, which includes a significant proportion of children who have experienced adverse events such as prenatal exposures or complex trauma. Many of these children have histories of child welfare involvement or international adoption and may have behavioral health concerns or developmental disabilities. 
 While most time at this site will be in the provision of direct patient care, there will also be opportunities to participate in medical student or resident supervision. In that role, the candidate&#8217;s responsibilities will include clinical supervision, teaching, evaluation, and feedback.
