BJC Medical Group is seeking a board-certified Internal Medicine physician for a Hospital Medicine Medical Director position at Missouri Baptist Medical Center
Missouri Baptist Medical Center, known for personalized compassionate care, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services along inlcuding a 24-hour adult emergency department and a specialized pediatric emergency unit in collaboration with Washington University Physicians from St. Louis Children’s Hospital. Missouri Baptist Medical Center is also proud to be starting an Internal Medicine Residency program starting Summer 2025.
The Hospital Medicine Medical Director shall serve as physician leader for the Hospital Medicine provider team, while serving as a liaison within associated departments and other hospitals. General duties will include leadership and oversight of the delivery of care, quality of care, relationships with other elements of the healthcare team, managing Hospital Medicine Program at MBMC and related personnel, and ensuring the overall efficiency and quality of the Hospital Medicine Program. It is expected that the Medical Director will serve as a prime example to team members and non-team members alike.
Preferred Experience Includes:
5-10 years of leadership experience
Experience working with Advanced Practice Providers
Involvement with residency programs/teaching
Generating and implementing change management

Missouri Baptist Medical Center Hospitalists are medical physicians who specialize in the care of hospitalized patients. They are located on the campus located in Town & Country, MO.

Role Purpose
Provides medical leadership and clinical direction. Establishes medical and educational policies and procedures for the provision of services. Consults with physicians and other health care providers. Ensures compliance with internal guidelines and regulations.
Responsibilities
Provides guidance, advice, consultation, and medical expertise to physicians, health care providers and staff members.
Directs, creates and integrates the delivery of services utilizing the latest in evidence-based medical information.
Recruits and retains a strong and growing base of internal medicine and primary care physicians (PCPs) who predominantly chose to send their patients to BJC facilities.
Directs operations and integrates services within the work unit and with other departments.
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
