Position Details:
We are looking for individuals with broad experience in all aspects of clinical urology. The Urologist will provide direct patient care to our unique Veteran population. Duties and responsibilities include, but is not limited to:
Serves as a mentor for urology residents in an accredited urology program as we always have a PGY 2 and PGY 5 resident on service. The opportunity exists but is not expected to participate in lectures, research, and other hands-on teaching activities with the urology residents.
Performing history and physical examinations, diagnose, prepare treatment plans, and manage patients with complex illnesses of the genitourinary system
Conducts Surgery on the genitourinary system
Conducts Resection/repair of kidney, ureter, bladder, urethra, prostate, and external genitalia
Conducts Cystoscopy with or without biopsy fulguration, stone destruction/removal, urethrotomy,
Conducts Placement, Revision and Removal of Male or Female slings or mesh-Placement, Revision and Removal of Penile Prosthesis
Conducts Ureteroscopy and Pyeloscopy
Conducts Neuromodulation via percutaneous or implanted device with fluoroscopic guidance
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs. This also includes participation in On-Call coverage for evenings, weekends and holidays).
Salary Range: $365,000-$385,000
Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Position Eligible
Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
Preferred Experience: Board certified/ board eligible Urologist; 1-3 years of recent surgical experience.
