Phoenix Children’s is seeking a full-time Division Chief to lead the Division of Developmental Pediatrics within Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s one of six Center of Excellence. The Division Chief shall serve as the leader of their division and achieve clinical, research and academic programmatic goals while providing financial oversight of the Division. In addition, the division chief shall provide patient care services and will support the PCH mission of providing hope, healing and the best health care for children and their families.
Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s comprises 5 divisions that integrate and coordinate care for children with neurological and behavioral disorder. We strive to improve the healthcare and quality of life for children and adolescents with complex emotional, behavioral, and medical needs. We have consistently been ranked as a top neurology and neurosurgical program by USNWR including a top 20 ranking in 2022.
The Division Chief’s strategic leadership will play a crucial role in enabling the Division of Developmental Pediatrics to improve neurocognitive, social and emotional outcomes for our pediatric patients. The Division Chief will provide overall direction for the clinical, training and research activities of the division. The Division Chief will collaborate on endeavors across divisions and disciplines, working closely with our partners in behavioral medicine services and the other divisions at Barrow at Phoenix Children’s.
The Division of Developmental Pediatrics at Phoenix Children’s currently comprises 2 developmental pediatricians and 4 advanced nurse practitioners and is actively recruiting for additional providers with further growth planned. We currently cover three satellite clinics and the main hospital campus, supporting a host of multidisciplinary clinics and specialty services. Members of the division participate in all aspects of our training programs, and many are involved in research programs and community education and outreach. There is the opportunity to help develop new programs and innovative care models within Developmental Pediatrics, including the possible development of a fellowship program. Research opportunities for academic collaboration include an affiliation with the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix, Creighton University School of Medicine, and Mayo Medical School. The position involves outpatient practice with no in-person call schedule.
Qualifications:
MD/DO
Board Certification in Developmental Pediatrics or Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology.
Significant administrative and leadership experience in a pediatric hospital or comparable setting.
No less than five years of post-licensure professional practice.
Be licensed or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Arizona.
A leadership style promoting a supportive and inclusive environment is key.
Research experience is preferred.
Bilingual competency in English and Spanish is desirable but not a prerequisite.
