The University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Baltimore VA Medical Center are recruiting a physician-scientist as the next Chief of the Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine Section at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. The Baltimore VAMC is affiliated with the University of Maryland School of Medicine and is located on campus, attached to the University of Maryland Medical Center by a walk-bridge. The Baltimore VAMC is an important training site for University of Maryland medical students, residents, and pulmonary and critical care fellows. The Baltimore VAMC also supports a busy research service that is integrated with the University of Maryland School of Medicine.
The associated University of Maryland School of Medicine faculty rank is expected to be at the Associate Professor or higher level; however, final rank will be dependent upon selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
All candidates must have a medical degree from a recognized accredited domestic university (or foreign equivalent), be eligible to obtain an independent license to practice Medicine in the State of Maryland and be BE/BC in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. The successful candidate should have an active, extramurally funded research program and a strong interest in teaching, career development, and building a strong academic Pulmonary Section. Additionally, because this position is funded, in part, directly by the Baltimore VAMC, all candidates must be US Citizens.
