The University of Minnesota's Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible Psychiatrist to fill an Academic Track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level. The position consists of:
- Approximately 0.10 FTE of Academic activities including publications, research, and other scholarly duties (meetings, grand rounds, committees, etc.).
- Approximately 0.90 clinical FTE serving as an inpatient psychiatrist on a team that consults with inpatient units at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.
The exact amount of aFTE allocated to the roles and the specific educational roles to be filled will depend on the successful candidate's background, experience, skills, and qualifications.
In clinical work, you will:
- Work on the Inpatient Psychiatry team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, which is comprised of world-renowned experts skilled at managing and treating individuals with mental health needs.
- Average daily census is 12 beds.
- Day time shift
- Weekend call: 10-11 weekends/year.
- No weeknight call between 10pm and 8am.
This position emphasizes building excellence and innovation in clinical care, clinical programming, and academic opportunities. The clinical leadership role in particular will require exercising creativity in problem solving and collaboration to navigate complex systems.

Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME/AOA Psychiatry residency training program.
- Board certified / Board eliglble
- Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
- Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
