Job Summary
Provides support for the Standardized Patient (SP) program including scheduling, assisting with training, preparing space and materials, and maintaining necessary paperwork for the functionality of the SPS program and the Clinical Skills & Simulation Center.
Job Duties
- Participate in recruitment and retention efforts for the Standardized Patient program including SP outreach via social media and newsletters as well as interviewing and onboarding new candidates.
- Schedule Standardized Patients as needed for all CSSC sessions.
- Maintain and organize the financial and administrative paperwork for programs utilizing the GCSOM Standardized Patient Program.
- Resolve and or report SP or student issues to supervisor.
- Provide administrative support for the CSSC, including preparation of scripts, stations and other exam and training session materials, maintenance of the SP database and room reservations as needed.
- Assist in the training of individuals to serve as Standardized Patients (SPs) in clinical scenarios as assigned by the supervisor.
- Work with faculty and other stakeholders in delivering CSSC sessions.
- Assist in traffic flow with the students, Standardized Patients and faculty during sessions in the CSSC
- Proctor clinical assessment examinations and procedures that occur in the Clinical Skills & Simulation Center.
- Support the quality of the programs within the CSSC by assisting with quality assurance and quality improvement. This includes observing live and prerecorded interactions of Standardized Patients.
- Support the maintenance and organization of CSSC equipment and supplies inventory.
- Adhere to and assist in enforcing all established CSSC and Standardized Patient Program policies and procedures.
- Participate in technical and educational training as necessary; attend conference to stay current with SP best practices
