The role you’ll contribute:
The Regional Director provides a dual role: 1) direct oversight for all Cardiovascular services for assigned hospitals; and 2) Direct oversight for cardiovascular practice operations. In both roles, they serve as the content expert and coordinates the use of human and financial resources to ensure the CV service line operate efficiently, effectively, safely and timely. This includes, non-invasive services, all CV procedural labs, cardiac rehabilitation, and other programs as directed by the Executive Director of the CV Service Line. They will also provide system education and training in the CV arena and be responsible for functional budgeting across their assigned hospitals within the Great Lakes Division. They help implement the strategic plan, implement innovation technology and information systems, help elevate clinical performance and stewardship, and help formulate new innovative approaches to care.. Responsibilities include oversight of all cardiovascular departments and programs, including all subspecialty programs within their hospitals. The Regional Director serves as the regional leader for the Cardiovascular services ensuring each hospital provides the same quality of care. The Regional Director conducts technology equipment planning to include next generation technology to map out capital planning, research, grant development and initiating philanthropic avenues. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Adheres to the Advent Health Corporate Compliance Plan and all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accredited bodies. Working with their local dyad physician leaders, they ensure implementation of System wide strategic plans and facilitate achievement of assigned goals. Specific practice operation role includes planning, organizing, and directing all activities related to staffing. They will prepare operational and departmental budgets and ensures compliance with allocated funding for the practice. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits. Directs and evaluates practice activities to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
The value you’ll bring to the team: For assigned hospitals will: •Provide leadership and direction for departments, services, clinical programs and support areas involved in the provision of cardiovascular-related care and services. •Responsible for day-to-day operations to ensure access and safe, high quality patient care •Responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously evaluating programs and services to meet volume, profitability, quality and service standards. •Leading interdepartmental and campus initiatives to achieve improvements in clinical care processes and patient services and volume and financial performance. •Develops and implements cost, Clinical Process Reliability (CPR), and efficiency plans. •Identifies necessary resources for patient care and programmatic development. •Direct responsibility for ensuring positive physician relations (and satisfaction) through collaboration and communication on daily operations, implementation of strategic goals, operational efficiencies and other issues as directed by Executive Director, Works collaboratively to resolve areas of conflict or difficulty in hospital practice. •Responsible for hiring and retaining qualified personnel through effective job design, recruitment, retention, development, and performance management programs and processes; assists cardiovascular-related department leadership in same capacity for key positions For the Practice, will: •Do all the hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives. For all staff members •Be responsible for all off-campus CV imaging •Direct responsibility for ensuring positive physician relationships through collaboration with all physicians, APP's, and office staff. •Ensures that appropriate personnel are in place by developing and managing a staffing plan for the team •Develops and supports a culture of quality, safety, and clinical excellence in patient care •Provides leadership in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team in development of evidence-based clinical initiatives, integrating current literature and benchmark information as a foundation for process improvement to optimize patient outcomes. COMPLIANCE/REGULATORY RESPONSIBILITY: •COPN requirements for CV Programs of Open Heart Surgery •State of Illinois requirements for Open Heart Surgery, Primary Coronary Intervention and STEMI •AAORN Operating room standards for all cardiovascular interventional radiology invasive labs •DMV requirements for all CV Invasive and Non-Invasive Clinical areas OPERATING & CAPITAL BUDGET/FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: •Functional budget responsibility for all CV departments for assigned hospitals •Develops and maintains annual budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses. STRATEGIC PLANNING RESPONSIBILITY: •Develops 3-5-year plans for invasive and noninvasive CV areas with physician dyad leaders for 3 sub-regions •Annual execution and pivot of local market strategies for growth and operational management •Assist in Performa development for innovative programs and Operational timeline with communication to campus CEO's for regular updates on programs and planning, PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT RESPONSIBILITY: •Responsible for Great Lakes Region working toward Premier top decile performance in alignment with CV goals •Lead PI teams on operational and quality improvement with Dyad Physician leaders •Monthly CV scorecard reviews with Directors and Physician leaders •Participate as a CV leader in Care Transformation teams and Bundled Payment teams COMMUNITY RELATIONS RESPONSIBILITY: •Responsible to keep EMS Liaisons, fire, and EMS up to date with latest improvements and offerings within CV services •Maintains a leadership role for CV services with the American Heart Association if requested •Engages in public speaking events on the behalf of CV services for community events STAFFING/LABOR/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: •Designs, establishes, and maintains an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the organization's goals and objectives; recruits, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff. •Responsible for Coding, supply chain and assistive personnel.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
- Bachelors Degree and 6+ years’ Experience Required.
- 4 years Leadership Experience Required.
- Masters in Nursing or related clinical/administrative field preferred.
- 5-10 years in CV hospital or clinic setting preferred.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing preferred.
- ACLS Preferred.
