Penn State Health is seeking a Patient Safety Specialist to join our team in a high impact role! 

The Patient Safety Specialist will assess patient safety issues across the Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Medical Group, including investigation, cause analysis, and the associated improvement projects to advance patient safety and reduce risk. Our talented patient safety professional will manage a portfolio of patient safety projects, monitor and evaluate clinical processes for the safe delivery of care, and present to hospital leadership. As a collaborator, the Patient Safety Specialist will partner with clinical areas to improve patient safety and educate caregivers and staff in patient safety sciences and methodologies.

A versatile position, the patient safety specialist will perform in-depth review of patient safety event reports and will expand upon their project management and facilitation skills by leading and implementing improvement projects. As a subject matter expert, this individual will build relationships with leaders throughout the organization and gather the right teams together to work through problems that impact patient safety.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelors Degree in healthcare required 

3 years clinical practice required 

2 years of progressive leadership or project management experience required Certification in Patient Safety must be obtained within 2 years of hire
