In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.

We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our team!
You Are:

- Very comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
You Will:
- Review requisitions and order entry orders to verify the accuracy of corresponding specimens, and enter required data into the computer
- Prepare specimens for testing or send out to another laboratory for testing utilizing the laboratory computer system
- Assure all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory's Standard Operating Procedures.
- Perform daily equipment maintenance and maintain logs for freezers and centrifuges.
- Provide direction, training, and feedback on routine laboratory procedures, as assigned.
- For requisitions lacking required information (e.g., specimen source), contacts the submitting physician to obtain the missing information.
- Maintain a complete, accurate, and organized files system, filing requisitions, and reference laboratories' results according to laboratory guidelines
- Maintain an organized and secure supply area and reagent storage area to ensure easy access to reagents, chemicals, and supplies
- Contribute to the upkeep and safety of the laboratory and assure a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area
You Have!
- High school diploma/GED + 1-2 years of proven experience
- Strong computer skills in Word and Excel
- Excellent information management skills to communicate, explain, interpret, share, and present information to laboratory and hospital staff
Hours of Work:
Sun 9-5, Mon-Thur, 12-8.
