RESEARCH FELLOW - Mechanisms of Temporal Lobe Epileptogenesis - Danzer Lab
DescriptionThe Danzer laboratory is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to investigate basic mechanisms of temporal lobe epileptogenesis. The principal goal of this research is to determine the mechanisms by which altered mechanistic target of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling disrupt hippocampal circuit function and lead to the development of epilepsy. The research has the potential to lead to new therapies to treat epilepsy, which will be tested in preclinical studies. The fellowship will provide training opportunities in EEG/ECoG acquisition and analysis, confocal and two-photon live imaging, hippocampal circuitry, calcium imaging, optogenetics, DREADDs, transgenic models of epilepsy and grant writing/manuscript preparation. The CCHMC campus sits adjacent to the affiliated
