In compliance with applicable New York and New Jersey State regulatory authorities, COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine) is mandatory for all MSK employees, contingent workers, and volunteers. Exceptions are permitted for those employees who request and receive an approved medical or fully remote exemption.
*Staff working at a MSK New Jersey location must be up to date with COVID-19 vaccination, which includes having completed the primary COVID-19 vaccination series and booster once eligible as mandated by New Jersey State. All New Jersey staff not yet eligible for a booster must receive a booster within 3 weeks of becoming eligible as a condition of continued employment at MSK.
Note: Individuals are eligible to receive a COVID-19 booster five months after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or two months after the J&J vaccine.

Nursing Professional Development Specialist

We are:
Professional Development & Nursing Education is responsible for the ongoing education and development of all nursing staff. We are committed to supporting and facilitating the professional development and advancement of all MSK nursing staff. We are currently seeking a Nursing Professional Development Specialist (Nurse Educator) to support this initiative and become a part of our NPDS team in NYC!
You will:
- Work in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment covering designated units
- Plan, develop, lead, implement and evaluate nursing staff development programs, including orientation, in-services, continuing education, specialty, and just in time programs
- In collaboration with the Nurse Residency Program Coordinator, designs and implements creative strategies to ensure effective role transition for new graduate nurses in the residency program
- Collaborates with Nurse Leaders and Clinical Nurse Specialists to meet institutional, departmental, divisional, and unit-based goals.
You are:
- A good decision-maker, with shown success at making timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward
- Able to work optimally in an environment notable for complex, sometimes contradictory information
- Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with interpersonal goals
- Effective at gaining the support and dedication of others by engaging them around your point of view and priorities
- Flexible in your approach and demeanor in order to align with the shifting demands of evolving circumstances
You have:
- New York State RN License
- Master's degree required in Nursing Education (preferred) / other nursing related masters considered
- 5 years of recent and relevant clinical experience with shown leadership abilities, demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory, and use of educational guiding methodologies
- Specialty certification required
- BLS, ACLS, PALS instructor preferred
HOURS: Four flexible 10 hour Days (Monday - Friday)
