Financial Analyst Full Time Days Position Summary
Responsible to support Director for eReserve, including preparation and analysis items/trends that significantly impact net revenue. Reviews proposed managed care contracts and identifies any issues or concerns with implementation of the terms prior to the contract being finalized. Works with hospital departments to resolve revenue cycle issues. Assists in analyzing data to verify contract terms have been loaded correctly into IMaCs and claims properly adjudicated during and after managed care negotiations. Support/Coordinate/Monitor the following: Department Head meetings, Chart Audit meetings, Compliance Committees, Charge Master review/updates, pass through invoice retrieval, Complex (e.g., �High $� or �At-Risk�) in-house patient meetings, Hospital Revenue Cycle Implementation Initiatives, Internal/External Audit Assistance and engaging legal for collection issues
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides oversight of the day-to-day operations in Patient Accounting
- Ensures the focus of coworkers and staff is on quality.
- Documents and develops criteria and measurement for all work processes.
- Creates and nurtures an environment of open communication in the workplace to encourage honest discussion of issues of quality without fear of retribution.

2. Seeks methods to improve current facility practices/processes by identifying problems and proposing solutions, as necessary.

- Holds monthly department staff meetings to share information about recent developments in the department and the hospital.
- In staff meetings, encourages 2-way communication, solicits agenda items from employees, and allows employees time to raise issues.
- Appoints a recorder for all meetings and has minutes distributed to the appropriate people.
- Keeps Administration and employees up-to-date by submitting a monthly activity report.
- Serves as role model for and promotes quality customer service to patients.

3. Assists in data collection, computation and dissemination to support performance and revenue goals.
- Reviews financial data and reports and advises DRA and Market Director of positive or negative trends.
- Reviews registration data and reports and advises DRA and Patient Access Direct of positive or negative trends.
4. Collaborates with the NMC for resolution of media requests, audits, denials and refunds.
- Meets with identified staff on an as needed basis to address issues.
- Inputs account adjustments and activity codes.
- Demonstrates initiative by accepting and prioritizing additional duties as assigned.
5. Participates with the hospital financial team in the month-end reserve analysis.
- Utilizes the eReserve system to review account balances for the appropriate reserve.
- Prepares the reports and spreadsheets for submission to the DRA/Market Director.
6. Complies with all hospital, federal, state and local policies and procedures that pertain to HIPAA, billing, collections, customer service and professional conduct.
- As part of the requirements for this position, the employee has access to the entire medical record for the purpose of account accuracy or resolution.
- Limits the protected health information (PHI) disclosed or requested to the amount reasonably necessary to achieve the purpose of the request.
Qualifications:THE FINANCIAL ANALYST FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
EDUCATION:
Required: High School Education or Equivalent
Preferred: Associates Degree
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Required: Five (5) years experience in a Health Care Facility
Preferred: Revenue Cycle Analysis
