UTMB was established in 1891 as the first academic health center in Texas and is a component of the University of Texas System. Today UTMB includes four schools (medicine, nursing, health professions and graduate biomedical sciences), a network of hospitals and clinics that provide a full range of primary and specialized medical care, and numerous research facilities. The Medical School enrolls 230 students per class and 1 in 6 Texas physicians have trained at UTMB.

UTMB also provides medical services through our Community Based Clinics (CBC’s) which are located along the I-45 corridor in the cities of:  Lake Jackson (Angleton), Clear Lake, Friendswood, League City, Webster, Texas City, and Galveston, Texas. 

UTMB Health CBC seeks Internists or Family Medicine Physicians for our Lake Jackson Campus:    

The UTMB CBC’s offer Clinical Faculty opportunities in an Out-Patient only setting and we are actively recruiting a qualified Family Medicine Physician and/or Internal Medicine Physician (General and/or Geriatric) interested in working at our Angleton/Lake Jackson campus.  This clinic offers a unique practice experience with exceptional patient care and support. This is a Monday through Friday opportunity with no call or weekend duties. All residents and in-practice physicians are encouraged to apply!  The city of Lake Jackson is in Brazoria County, which is within the Greater Houston metropolitan area. The city population is approximately 26,849, and the city is warm and welcoming, offering excellent schools and exceptionally affordable housing.            

Candidate Requirements:

• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility
• Current, unrestricted Texas State Medical License.

Income Package:  Salary will be competitive and includes an obtainable RVU bonus package with incentives exceeding an additional $25,000.00 on average.  In addition, UTMB offers a superior benefits package, an excellent retirement program, a relocation allowance as well as other potential incentives.
