The Health Information Management (HIM) Analyst 4 is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the legal medical record through assuring compliance with System, State, Federal and Regulatory requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, corrections, auditing, analyzing, reporting, and release of information.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
Performs medical record documentation reviews for regulatory and accreditation compliance
Performs data integrity reviews throughout various information technology systems (i.e., EMPI, electronic medical record, portal and other downstream technology solutions) to ensure quality data and reporting
Performs privacy walk through reviews and works in collaboration with the HIM Director on communicating results to applicable department leadership and/or Corporate Compliance
Performs physician education of various documentation and medical record completion systems
Researches, troubleshoots, and resolves documentation issues on accounts
Processes medical record amendment requests in accordance with policy and State and Federal requirement
Performs release of information quality reviews to ensure compliance with policy and State and Federal requirements
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
Certified Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred.
Proficient computer and work processing skills.
Strong critical thinking skills.
Ability to analyze errors and problem solve.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to work effectively with a variety of customers; to include physician, nurses, and patients.
