Camino Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in San Juan Capistrano, California.  The organization is located in a beautiful coastal town and has an $18MM operating budget.  The organization is small enough to be nimble yet large enough to have the resources to make a significant impact in the community. Because of its track record of providing high-quality, affordable health care, Camino Health Center is fortunate to receive financial support from numerous community individuals as well as large corporations and local cities through various grant programs.  Camino is the premier community health center serving the underinsured and uninsured residents of South Orange County through its three health center locations in Lake Forest, San Clemente, and San Juan Capistrano. Staffed with dedicated, service-driven professionals, it is evident when a patient walks through the doors, they have entered a customer-focused health center.  

Roles and Responsibilities of the CEO

Our ideal candidate will be mission-driven, can identify with the patient census, and comes from an FQHC or community health care background. The incoming CEO will lead a dynamic, diverse staff comprised of both experienced and emerging committed leaders and clinicians with a passion for delivering high quality health care.

Preferred Qualifications and Characteristics

The successful candidate will embody many of the following professional skills, experiences, and personal qualities:

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required; however, it is preferred that the candidate possess a master's degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in progressively responsible managerial positions or five years or more at the level of CEO or COO in an FQHC organization.
• Expertise within the health care industry in the State of California would be a plus.
• Strong leadership, decision-making and communication skills.
