Assistant/Associate Professor, Public Health Genetics:   

The Department of Human Genetics in the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health seeks an individual at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor in the appointment stream. This full-time position will contribute to the educational mission of the department by teaching and mentoring students in the MPH Public Health Genetics program and other programs as well as serving in program leadership and administration for the Public Health Genetics program. The department offers the MPH in Public Health Genetics, MS in Genetic Counseling, MS in Genome Bioinformatics, and MS and PhD in Human Genetics. Candidates may focus primarily on the educational mission of the department or may have substantial interest in teaching, public health practice and research.  

Candidates must possess a doctoral-level degree in a relevant field and must have a substantial interest in pedagogy and educational program development, demonstrated skills in public health, and a commitment to the school's values of respectful dialogue, cultural humility, and promotion of health equity. Additional desirable qualifications include an interest in human genetics, public policy, advocacy, and community engagement. Appointment at the level of Associate Professor requires at least six years of experience post-doctorate and significant documented pedagogical, public health practice, and/or research accomplishment. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s background/experience.

Position may start any time after August 1, 2022.

All reference letters will be collected by the department independently. Please note:  For appointment at the Associate level, at least three additional letters will be requested from referees identified independently of those provided by the candidate.
