A postdoctoral position is available to study the role of iron in liver injury related to non-alcoholic fatty liver diseases (NAFLD). The prospective candidate will have the opportunity to use primary hepatocyte culture, conditional knockout mouse models, state-of-the-art techniques such as transcriptomics, proteomics and lipidomics, and other molecular/cell biology techniques to address the detrimental role and underlying mechanisms of iron-induced liver damage and liver fibrosis in NAFLD. Previous experience in studying liver diseases, genetically engineered animals, mammalian cell culture and molecular biology, is highly preferred.
