The Children’s National Hospital, one of the top 10 children's hospitals in the nation, is seeking an academic pediatric neuroradiologist to join 4 pediatric neuroradiologists within the Department of Diagnostic Imaging & Radiology. Children's National is a 325-bed facility with annual performance of nearly 16,000 surgeries and more than 685,000 outpatient visits in 45 specialties. The hospital is ranked No. 3 in Children’s Neurology and Neurosurgery Hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. In addition to general neurology, neurosurgery, and ENT services, Children's National also provides subspecialty services in neuro-oncology, epilepsy, neurofibromatosis, neuro-intensive care, fetal medicine, neurogenetics, and vascular disorders.
State of the art clinical MRI facilities include a Siemens Vida 3T magnet, three 3T GE magnets, two 1.5T (one wide bore and with HIFU) GE magnets, one 1.5T Philips intraoperative magnet with HIFU, and a 1.5T Siemens interventional MR suite. Dedicated research facilities include a Quantitative MR research lab and a Bioengineering laboratory with expertise in post processing, image fusion, navigation, simulation, robotics.
The department has its own pediatric radiology fellowship program, and most years supports a dedicated pediatric neuroradiology fellow. Visiting radiology residents and neuroradiology fellows rotate from regional programs including George Washington University Medical Center, Georgetown University, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and the University of Maryland.
Applicants must be board certified or eligible in diagnostic radiology and must have completed fellowship training in neuroradiology or in pediatric neuroradiology and have passed and/or be eligible for a CAQ in neuroradiology. A research track record is highly desirable. The applicant must be eligible for academic appointment at the George Washington University Medical Center. The position will be at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level.
