Program Manager, Longitudinal Study of HIV and Aging in Brazil

JOB SUMMARY: Plans, develops and executes ongoing program(s) that impacts a significant segment of the organization under occasional guidance.
The Vanderbilt Program Manager for the Longitudinal Study of HIV and Aging in Brazil will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating study clinical and laboratory activities at participating sites as well as and monitoring and managing data received from sites. The study involves recruitment and enrollment of older adults with HIV from four clinical sites in Brazil and longitudinal follow-up with repeated study visits and data/specimen collection. The Program Manager will work closely with study coordinators and nurses in Brazil to aid and oversight of execution of study activities. The Program Manager will monitor and review the electronic data received from study sites for completeness and quality. The Program Manager will travel with the PI to Brazil annually to perform site visits and is expected to communicate and problem-solve logistical issues with sites independently. The Program Manager will also assist the PI in local regulatory reporting activities, budgetary management, and preparation of documents required by the study sponsor (NIH). Given the complexity of the international study, the Program Manager needs to be fluent in Portuguese for efficient communication with study collaborators and have experience in study coordination.
Monitoring and Coordination of Study Visit Activities
Database support and data quality monitoring
Admin support of documentation for regulatory oversight and reporting to study sponsor (NIH)
Some study budgetary responsibilities to include assisting in preparation and creation of subcontracts
Participation in monthly calls with VUMC PI and Brazilian PI
Position Shift: Normal Daytime Business Hours; some flexibilty and remote work is an option

The Division also is deeply committed to excellence in teaching of medical students, residents, our colleagues in practice and ID fellows.
