Under the administrative direction of the Chief Pharmacy Officer (CPO), the incumbent will serve primarily as Pharmacy Manager for the pharmacy at Edgemoor distinct part (D/P) Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) in Santee. The Pharmacy Manager will collaborate with other Pharmacy Manager(s) and leadership throughout the County to provide pharmaceutical services in different settings, including Public Health, Psychiatric Hospital, and mental health clinics, and will be responsible for directing the work of Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, or other professional staff assigned to provide pharmaceutical services. The Pharmacy Manager is designated as, and registered with the California Board of Pharmacy as, the Pharmacist-in-charge of the facility he/she is assigned. The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for a pharmacy's compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy and may be responsible for providing expert consultation to other County departments that have pharmaceutical operations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A current and verifiable Pharmacist License, issued by the California State Board of Pharmacy; AND,
Graduation from an accredited U.S. college or university, Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) Certification, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in pharmacy; AND,
Two (2) years of experience as a Pharmacist in the County of San Diego OR three (3) years of experience as a pharmacist in one of the following health care facilities: A pharmacy serving a skilled nursing facility, retail pharmacy, or hospital. Previous experience must have included at least two (2) years of first line supervision experience over employees in the pharmaceutical industry.
Note: Possession of a doctoral degree in pharmacy from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.
A master’s degree in one of the following: Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), or Master of Public Health (MPH)
Board certification in one of the following: Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS), Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist (BCPP), Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (BCGP)
Post-Graduate Year (PGY) 2 training in psychiatry, geriatric
Experience as a pharmacist-in-charge (PIC) either in CA or in another state
Expertise in CA Title 22 pertaining to different healthcare settings such as hospital and SNF
Expertise in Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) pertaining to different healthcare settings such as hospital and SNF, and the associated State Operations Manual (SOM) Appendices A, P, and PP
Condition of Employment
In accordance with County of San Diego policies and the California Department of Public Health Order dated August 5, 2021, depending on work location, employees must adhere to one of the below requirements:

All employees that work in healthcare facilities are required to be vaccinated. A requirement of employment is to provide a copy of your COVID-19 Vaccination at time of appointment.
(In regard to #2 above) Must have either the first dose of a one dose regime or the second dose of a two-dose regime by September 30, 2021* in accordance with CDPH order dated August 5, 2021.
