This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to quality patient care, and to fellow and resident education, with experience in building and sustaining programs in one or more areas of clinical research, clinical outreach, education, quality or safety. Responsibilities will include patient care in the full scope of nephrology, trainee supervision and education, and clinical administrative leadership. As an academic nephrologist, the incumbent will be an active participant in the teaching program and responsible for fostering the academic careers of trainees. Completion of training and demonstrated interests in clinical research or healthcare quality assurance are highly desirable. The Minneapolis VAHCS is affiliated with fully accredited ACGME nephrology training programs at the University of Minnesota and Hennepin County Medical Center. The applicant should be eligible for faculty appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level at the University of Minnesota.
