PRMO:, established in 2001, Patient Revenue Management Organization (PRMO) is a fully integrated, centralized revenue cycle organization supporting all of Duke Health, including Duke University Hospital, Duke Regional Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, the Private Diagnostic Clinic, and Duke PrimaryCare. The PRMO focuses on streamlining the revenue cycle through enhanced management of scheduling, registration, coding, HIM operations, billing, collections, cash management, and customer service. Coordinate and participate in a variety of du ties associated withdaily clinic preparation process, patient identifica tion, patient checkin/out, charge posting, cash management and patient a ppointmentscheduling. Position also involves customer service, message d istribution, ancillary scheduling and preparation and referralsmanagemen t.
Prepare for clinic visits by revie wing next day patients andcompleting next day preparation activities. En terpre-visit orders andprepare new patient charts. Pick up X-rays, offic echarts, medicalrecords, reports, petty cash and collections bag. File h istory sheets,ancillary reports and all other required patient record do cumentation.Return medical records. Attach HIPPA/Medicare documents to t heencounter forms.Check-in patient upon arrival in the practice. Identi fy correct patientinformation in Maestro Care. Verify patient demographi cdata. EditMaestro Care as needed. Accurately identify the appropriate a ccountfor patient visit. Present and educate patients on required formsa ndobtain signature as required by policy and procedure. Completes allMae stro Care check-in files and manage all appropriate alerts. Collectandpo st co-payments and balances on accounts due. Imprint all patientspecific chart documents and requisition/transmittal documents. Copy,file anddis tribute insurance cards as indicated by procedure.Coordinate all labs/pr ocedures as requested. Maintain private physicianoffice charts.Prepare e ncounter forms. Investigate and account for missing encounterforms. Audi t encounter forms for completeness and accuracy beforebatching. Batches encounter forms or charge posting in Maestro Care.Schedule tests andproc edures. Complete and distributeancillary service requisitions.Explain bi lling to patientsaccording to PRMO credit and collection policies. Deter mine the amountof cash to be collected based on insurance plan.Check-out patients. Make return appointments by scheduling patients into thecorrec t appointment type, entering the primary care physician orreferringphysi cian and scheduling tests and procedures.Answer telephone, take anddeliv er messages to physicians, nurses andothers. Report obtained medical inf ormation from patients and referringphysicians accurately, completely an d timely. Disseminate messagesaccording to practice communicationstandar ds
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication. Basic PC and data entryskills. Knowledgeof medic al terminology and telephone etiquette.Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work, provide oral andwritten instructions, interact tact fully with customers and establishand maintain effective relationships w ith others. Must be able to applyspecific departmental policiesrules and regulations relating toverifying patient information, collecting paymen ts and maintainingrecords and forms.
Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles normally acquired through high school education
Minimum of one year of work experience in directly communicating and activities. providing service to patients or public; preferably in a healthcare related field. Experience in effectively coordinating multiple tasks or
