Under the supervision of the Director, Center for Public Health Practice and Professional Development, the Fellowship Program Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of fellowship and scholarship opportunities, and other related workforce strengthening efforts for emerging public health professionals. This is a grant funded position and dependent on grant funding. Manage the fellowship/scholarship application review process: establishing criteria, soliciting submissions, identifying selection committee, supporting selection committee with reviews. Serve as primary contact for fellows and scholars. Develop communication messaging for fellowship/scholarship promotion. Serve as the liaison to academic institutions for scholarships. Coordinate efforts with Membership Services to engage Fellows and Scholars in APHA’s Early Career Professionals and Student Assembly programs. Develop surveys and other evaluation tools to track program success and measure effectives. Manage fellowship/scholarship database. This position will supervise the Fellowship Program Coordinator. Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in Health, Education or related field from a four-year college or university preferred or relevant experience. Five years of work experience at the professional level. Previous experience with providing project management within associations or other professional organization. Detail oriented, proactive, and excellent organizational, planning and follow-up skills. Experience in effectively managing time-sensitive demands with limited direct supervision. Strong written and oral communication skills. Travel to the Annual Meeting is required with other occasional travel possible.
Position is based in downtown DC near several metro stations. Hours: 35 hours a week, full-time, Mon- Fri. (daytime). Number of openings: 1.
