The strategic planning analyst directly supports the vice president, director, and senior health planners' data and information needs. The strategic planning analyst will provide support through the collection and interpretation of data, research for market intelligence, publicly reported data, and consumer experience information. The strategic planning analyst will assist with a broad variety of strategic planning projects through data analysis, monitoring of industry trends, preparing actionable intelligence briefings of key findings and assumptions, and will assist with the development of business plans and presentation materials. In addition, the strategic planning analyst will research, prioritize, organize, and produce quantitative and qualitative information and analysis to support enterprise level and service line level strategic planning. Establishes and maintains effective relationships with internal and external collaborators to ensure availability of timely and accurate information. Supports the management of external vendor relationships for data and intelligence reporting.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for compiling, developing, delivering, evaluating, monitoring, updating, and presenting data and analytics to support strategic planning. This includes data for local, regional and national market scans and trends, program/service lines, competitive market positioning, market share and forecasting.
Serves as the Strategy & Planning Department's expert and primary user of health care analytic and intelligence tools.
Principle liaison to the department's health care data vendors.
Responsible for maintaining and performing quality control of data, databases, and tools used within the department.
Completes market, demographic, and physician needs assessments.
Develops presentation of quantitative and qualitative data with key findings of analysis. Presentation includes use of maps, tables, and charts with appropriate text of conclusions, comparisons, assumptions, and recommendations.
Assist with facilitating, or lead, meetings to present and discuss data, market intelligence, and other related information for strategic planning.
Monitors health analytics industry to inform department of changes and appropriate recommendations for technology, methodology and products.
Produces, develops and enhances presentation and reports issued by the department for executive leadership and/or the health system Board of Directors.
Participates on project teams to develop new business ideas and research priorities.
Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices.
Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree health administration, public health, business, finance, or commensurate experience required.
3 years of experience with using data for health care strategic planning, market/environmental and quantitative analytic experience, or business planning experience preferred.
Preferred experience in health care.
Experience using Sg2 healthcare analytics, mapping software and other healthcare analytics preferred.
