The Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane, WA is seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Urologist. The Urologist is accountable to the Chief, Surgical Service, for assuring the most effective delivery of care in Urology while meeting and exceeding compliance standards. Vacancy announcement is subject to close at any time after initial two week open period (3/23/2021). Applicants will be referred every two weeks. The Urologist duties include, but are not limited to: Performance of surgical procedures and patient admission and discharges, consultation, evaluation and treatment to manage various conditions, illnesses and injuries to the urologic systems Conduct clinics, make referrals, recommendations for treatment and/or medication and follow up care of Veteran patients experiencing urologic problems Perform major and minor urologic procedures Performs the administrative components of patient care management, such as: authors and/or provides dictation of notes, operative reports, discharge summaries, signatures, and consultation referrals for inpatients, and outpatients, etc. Fosters a high level of patient and staff satisfaction Ensures communication with incoming evening Medical Officer of the Day and/or Urologist on call regarding in-patient care issues Attend Surgery Service staff meetings as well as meetings of the medical staff Completes medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff Work Schedule: Anticipated tour of duty is Monday - Friday 8am,-4:30pm, with after hours call. Tour will be discussed during interview and may change based on department needs. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required Incentives: Relocation or Recruitment incentive authorized PCS Relocation: Not authorized EDRP: Not authorized Benefits: Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus (up to an additional 7.5% of their salary (not to exceed $15k), regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: Annual leave at the rate of eight (8) hours per biweekly pay period; Sick leave at the rate of four (4) hours per biweekly pay period; 10 paid Federal holidays per year Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years' vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA. Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement). Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory. CME: Possible $1,000 per year stipend + possible 1 week paid authorized absence to attend. Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided. Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.
