Under limited direction, and according to established policies and procedures, collaborates with the Human Resource Generalist and corporate HR function to provide human resource services to an assigned region. Works as a team member and demonstrates behavior consistent with the DMC's Customer Service Standards. As a customer-focused HR representative, must be accessible, flexible, knowledgeable and responsive to customers and team members requests. 1. Interprets DMC policies, procedures, standards, ethics, government regulations and laws. Assists in the communication, and implementation of HR practices and procedures. 2.Identifies region practices that are inconsistent with established policies, standards, regulations and laws to assure comp0liance and consistency. Works with Human Resource Generalist or HR management to resolve these issues. 3.Assists in planning, communicating and administering special HR region programs such as service awards, employee suggestion programs, blood drives, united way, and employee recognition programs. 4.Serves as an employee resource to communicate general benefit and pension program information. Administers regions disability programs, leave of absence policy, FMLA eligibility and short term disability programs. Explains flexible benefits eligibility and enrollment procedures to flexible benefits to region staff. 5. Supports centralized Employment in recruitment activities. Advises employees and management regarding the process needed to interact with employment services. Analyzes turnover data and recommends corrective action. Conducts exit interviews and compiles reports. 6.Provides basic employee relations support to the Human Resources Generalist in employee relations issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, civil rights complaints, etc. for the assigned region. 7. Reviews and analyzes requests form managers to create or evaluate jobs and in conjunction with the Generalist or management, makes recommendation as to the validity of the job evaluation request. Forwards to wage and salary only those requests that meet the established standards for review. Determines employee impact resulting from evaluation of job duties and advises management of any action needed. 8.Monitors salary equity and pay practices as identified by the region Generalist or management. Assists in the communication of pay practices to employees and in resolving pay problems. Collaborates with the region Generalist and centralized Wage & Salary staff regarding unusual pay issues. 9. Performs general Human Resource duties as needed to facilitate HR process improvement. Standardizes processes; gathers data, analyzes data, formulates a systems wide approach, provides communications and implementation process to management for review and approval. May interact with corporate HRIS staff to enhance HR reporting mechanisms. 10. Processes unemployment compensation claims by researching claims and may follow through by representing the Hospital at external hearings, mediation and trials. 11. In conjunction with the training and development staff, facilitates and/or provides training and development opportunities for assigned region including new hire orientation. Facilitates distribution or policies and other employee communications. 12. May provide HR assistance to departments in the expansion or reduction of staff. 13. Actively pursues information related to changes in laws and regulations as well as business trends in Human Resources within and outside of the healthcare industry in order to effectively serve HR customers. Qualifications: 1. Bachelors degree in a Human Resources related field or the equivalent in experience.
2. Four to six months of Human Resources experience preferred.
