The Veterans Affairs Health Care System (MVAHCS) in Minneapolis, Minnesota seeks a part-time (up to 0.5 FTE) BE/BC Infectious Disease Physician to join a vibrant academically focused infectious disease section. Candidates with VA merit awards and/or NIH grants along with a track record of impressive academic commitment and recognition at mid-career level, including experience with health services or implementation research, are strongly encouraged to examine this opportunity. The Minneapolis VAHCS is a busy tertiary care medical center that provides service to veterans with complex infectious diseases. The successful candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to quality patient care, medical education, research, clinical microbiology, and antimicrobial stewardship. He/she will have training and/or a track record in academic pursuits, should be dedicated to continued scholarship, and bring strong interpersonal skills and a history of collaborating across medical specialties. Responsibilities will include providing patient care (outpatient and inpatient) in infectious diseases, attending on the inpatient resident medicine service, trainee supervision, education and mentoring, and production of scholarly materials. The Minneapolis VAHCS is affiliated with the University of Minnesota and the applicant will be eligible for faculty appointment at the University of Minnesota, Department of Medicine.
