This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until December 31, 2021. The initial cut off date for referral of eligible applications will be , 2021, with subsequent cut off dates on a bi-weekly basis. Work Schedule: Financial Disclosure Report: Not required The Chief Hospitalist duties involve administration and patient care on both non-teaching and teaching services, in addition to leading and/or supporting a range of facility performance measures to optimize employee engagement, patient experience, and patient outcomes. Serves as Chief of Hospital Medicine for the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, providing leadership and guidance to assigned clinical and administrative staff, complying with Medical Center policies and the Medical Staff bylaws. Provides direct patient care in inpatient setting. Observes patient responses, testing procedures, use of equipment and review of patient records. Thoroughly documents examinations and histories using appropriate programs and forms. Provides education to other physicians and healthcare professionals regarding medical disorders and their treatments. Provides education, supervision, and mentoring to medical students and residents in medical disorders and their treatments. Participates in special duties as assigned by the Chief of Staff or Chief of Medicine, VA Loma Linda Healthcare System. Participates in quality assurance programs and chart reviews. Attends Medical Staff meetings and serves on Medical Staff committees, as assigned. Completes all medical records (including discharge summaries) in accordance with Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff.
