Job Summary

Uses data expertise, programing abilities, and critical thinking skills to solve complex issues as well as identify new and innovative uses and transformations of available data. Works collaboratively with investigators in the design of research studies and methodologies and creation of analytic datasets. Develops code to deliver high quality data products on time to customers. Assists in discussions with research staff to identify key areas and priorities for focus based on data and analysis. Participates in efforts to assess, recommend, implement, troubleshoot, validate, and interpret results.

Job Duties

  • Performs data extraction, manipulation, and summarization of large databases to create analytical datasets and provide a range of solutions to support Research activities.
  • Participates in the design, testing, validation, analysis and merging of data from a wide variety of source systems.
  • Participates in written and oral communication of analytical content/results and recommendations to research project team.
  • Able to create summarized findings and recommendations that are clearly presented.
  • Actively engages and contributes to assigned projects and when appropriate, development of phenotype algorithms.
  • Assists in discussions with research staff to identify key areas and priorities for focus based on data analysis.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of research methodology and research data collection methodologies.
  • Assists with educating the requester of any complexities associated with the data requests.
  • Performs SQL/SAS/ analytical programming, data management and database development skills for research projects.
  • Demonstrates aptitude to identify and resolve problems using knowledge, background and interactive problem solving and troubleshooting techniques.
  • With oversight, able to ensure accuracy, data integrity and completeness of data.
