This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The Chief Medical Officer reports directly to the Primary Care Service Chief and collaborates closely with the other six CBOC Chief Medical Officers to ensure the most effective delivery of care while meeting or exceeding compliance standards. Major Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The incumbent is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Greenville CBOC; Must possess a broad spectrum of clinical and administrative knowledge which provides the ability to manage a large Primary Care program, specifically with regard to Veteran and staff customer satisfaction, quality of services provided, and efficiency of service delivery; Coordination of the clinical care of all patients within the clinic, while working in collaboration with Primary Care, Women's Health, ER/Urgent Care and Surgical and Medical Sub-Specialty Services; Facilitation of communication among patients and their families along with the VA and outside primary care physicians, hospitalists, and subspecialists; Responsible for oversight and coordination of process improvement initiatives, assuring teamwork and addressing customer service and service recovery issues in the clinic; Providing patient care in accordance with professional standards, core values and commitment to excellent service. The incumbent will be committed to supporting Patient Centered Care, to include the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model and provide direction and leadership for PACT to ensure that the facility's goals and benchmarks for integrated care delivery are met; must have a working knowledge of national programs such as SAIL (Strategic Analytics for Improvement and Learning) and HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set); Develop and administer performance plans and appraisals for subordinates as required by VA regulations. The incumbent is also responsible for assuring services provided by the CBOC meet the standards set by accrediting agencies which govern the quality of care for the Medical Center, to include, but not limited to the Joint Commission, the Office of Inspector General (OIG), and VA System-Wide Ongoing Assessment and Review Strategy (SOARS).
