Education and length of practice are considered through a formal pay-setting process to determine the final compensable salary (Base Pay + Market Pay). An opportunity exists for a full-time Primary Care provider at the LaSalle, IL VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC). The clinic is a rural Community Based Outpatient Primary Care clinic in Peru, IL, serving patients primarily in LaSalle and Grundy Counties. The Primary Care Provider will provide primary care, to include Women's health care, for a panel of approximately 1200 patients at the LaSalle Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC), one of six CBOCs that fall under the Hines VA hospital. Incumbent works collaboratively with local CBOC staff and projects involving CBOC staff or patients. In this role, one will participate in and maintain clinical and educational activities within Primary Care/General Medicine at Hines to stay grounded and relevant in the role. Women's Health Care updated training for VA care delivery will be provided as needed. This position is responsible for all functions which fall under the scope of care of a VA Primary Care Provider. These duties include predominantly those that are clinical and administrative in nature, but also involve teaching and research, either directly or through delegated authority and consist of the following: Initial patient evaluation Management of acute and chronic medical conditions in an outpatient setting Follow up care post treatment Consultation with other services as needed Providing acute/emergency care 24 hours a day 365 days a year Maintaining patient records and files and follows HIPPA guidelines regarding patient information Works with the Chief, Medical Service and other staff as appropriate, supports operations issues/problems resolution Participates in a forum in which staff identify, communicate and resolve issues related to Medical Service, Medical Center ancillary and support operations and VISN-wide mandates Works with the Chief, Medical Service and other disciplines as necessary to support, contribute to and implement policies, procedures, performance goals, strategic plans and initiatives Seeks and enhances opportunities to promote and strengthen the Medical Center's and VISN goals and implement these goals Research initiative opportunities Contributes to the development, maintenance and enhancement of relations with internal and external entities including but not limited to: medical and nursing schools, therapist training programs, local public and private health care entities, colleagues in other Patient Services and Integrated Services such as Information Technology, Laboratory, and Business Office, labor, and VISN Participates in Medical Service strategic planning, as requested and in local administrative, management, quality assurance, and other assignments, meetings or committees, as requested. Performance reflects and demonstrates support of the Chief, Medical Service, Chief of Staff, Medical Center Director's, VISN Network and national goals Participates in regular peer review activities. Ensures timely completion of daily clinic notes with accurate documentation and coding of service rendered Follows established safety practices and participates in quality assurance (QA) activities Optimizing patient safety and quality Other duties as assigned Work Schedule: M-F 8:30am-5:00pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
