Responsible for making rounds on the nursing units to assess their needs for assistance, including Living Care Center.
Responsible for insuring the provision of, and continuously evaluating the nursing care that patients and their families receive for the purpose of ascertaining that it supports and is congruent with the medical staffâ��s plan of care and is pursuant to the hospitalâ��s and department of nursingâ��s objectives and policies.
Responsible for maintaining a staffing pattern based on knowledge of staffâ��s skills and competencies; patientsâ�� needs; expectations of other members of the health team; FVRH standards; Department of Health Regulations; and JCAHO requirements. The nursing director is responsible for staffing the unit for 24 hours, while the Administrative Supervisor alters the staffing pattern as changes arise and in concurrence with the specific nursing director or coordinator.
Responsible for maintaining and demonstrating a flexible demeanor and open communication.
Responsible for assisting with the receiving and transfer of patients.
Responsible for facilitating the coordination of daily operations by working with members of other departments.
Responsible for estimating needs of staff, supplies, and equipment on weekends and off shifts, and devising a plan to meet those needs.
Responsible for maintaining an effective system of recording and reporting. Responsible for completing and following up with incidents and other significant events that require communication. Responsible for maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive issues.
Responsible for assuring optimal staff attendance at educational programs.
Responsible for identifying instances where policy and procedures or systems do not support efficient patient care and taking steps to make necessary changes.
Responsible for informing staff of changes throughout the hospital.
In collaboration with the nursing directors and human resources, responsible for implementing a fair system of flexing due to census.
Responsible for completing projects and assignments as requested.
Minimum Education: Knowledge necessary to obtain RN license in the state of California and current California RN license. Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification. Current CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
Minimum Experience: 1-3 years recent nursing experience preferred.
Preferred skills and abilities: Bachelorâ��s degree in nursing or healthcare field. Clinical specialty skills as appropriate to department.
