Psychiatric Inpatient Program

Within our psychiatric inpatient program, you’ll enjoy a stable, secure environment working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of mental health clinicians committed to providing optimal care, promoting patients’ successful reintegration into society, and reducing recidivism. During the COVID-19 state of emergency, the Mental Health Program will offer Telework options which will be provided based on operational availability. In addition, hiring interviews will be available virtually using teleconferencing or video conferencing options.

Under the supervision of the Senior Psychologist Supervisor or the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, you will:

• Conduct assessments and summarize case information for use in diagnosis, treatment, and release
• Develop, monitor, and modify treatment plans as necessary; document and evaluate patients’ treatment progress
• Coordinate placement with community resources

While a valid California Clinical Social Worker license is required, the ideal candidate will also have:

• Knowledge of current trends in mental health, public health, public welfare, and Federal and State programs in these fields; psychosocial aspects and characteristics of mental, developmental, and physical disabilities
• Understanding of community organization principles; scope and activities of public and private health and welfare agencies
• Inpatient experience or treating a severely and persistently mentally ill population
• Interest in supervising unlicensed clinicians
• Excellent communication skills and open to opportunities to learn and grow
