Reporting to the SVP Ambulatory, the VP Ambulatory Services is responsible for providing operational leadership, strategic development, market and financial growth of Outpatient Pharmacy, Outpatient Laboratory, Outpatient Rehabilitation, Florida Radiology Imaging, integrated Health Parks, Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Sleep Labs, and the Outpatient Access Center for IHS within the Central Florida Division (CFD). Responsible for integration of these business units into an overall Outpatient Strategy that will include free-standing locations and within health parks. Works in partnership and collaboration with the support of executive teams for Strategy and Finance to assure revenue integrity. Provides direct leadership and accountability in the translation of business strategies into organizational initiatives and consumer-centric strategies. The VP Ambulatory works collaboratively with the Network Development and Population Health Executive teams.
Principle Duties and Job Responsibilities:
Provides executive and operational leadership, strategic development, and program implementation for the multiple sites of Outpatient Pharmacy, Outpatient Laboratory, Outpatient Rehab, OP Imaging, Ambulatory Surgery, Sleep Lab, and Health Park business units of Integrated Health Services within the Central Florida Division.
Responsible for the integration of the Ambulatory business units into an overall Outpatient Strategy within IHS, including free-standing locations and within Health Parks.
Works collaboratively with the Care Integration and Network Development team to lead the Ambulatory business units in achieving connected, wholistic, affordable, viable, and exceptional care with the best possible clinical outcomes and consumer experience.
Collaborates with the Strategy, Marketing and Network Development teams to build strategic and marketing plans for the business units that are consumer centric.
Responsibility for the development and operations of a Specialty Pharmacy to service the AdventHealth patients in the CFD market.
Leads the development of consumer-focused strategies designed to enhance the overall experience and care that consumer receive in all outpatient settings.
Leads AdventHealth partners and physicians in the development and operations of a comprehensive Ambulatory Surgery strategy.
Works in collaboration with Institute leadership in the development and market growth of ambulatory surgery lines.
Manages the ongoing operations of AdventHealth Outpatient Access center for the purposes of performing customer service, scheduling, prior authorization, follow-up activities.
Expands Ambulatory Services in collaboration with the corresponding Executive Leadership of Central Florida and West Divisions.
Accountable for achieving balanced metrics across the business units – market, clinical, financial, service and team.
Promotes communication and collaboration within IHS and ACS to support the care of patients across the continuum.
Oversees efficient and effective use of EMR and billing software to maximize revenue while supporting the connected care of the patient.
In collaboration with the operational leaders, Strategy and Marketing, develops and implements strategic plans and short/long term goals of the IHS Ambulatory business units.
Develops annual capital, building and renovation plans to meet the needs of the Ambulatory business units and supports the overall Outpatient Strategy.
Maintains collaborative working relationships with physicians and other clinical team members to ensure effective coordination of services.
Builds a cohesive Ambulatory leadership team that is accountable for deploying the strategic and operational plans in an efficient and effective way. Supports and facilitates leadership development and succession planning for all team members. Actively mentors others into leadership roles.
Education, Experience, and Licensure:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration or equivalent
MBA or MHA preferred
Minimum of five (5) years’ operations and strategic management experience
Minimum of two (2) years in progressively leadership experience in the healthcare field, preferably in an outpatient healthcare setting
Five (5) years health care experience in an outpatient setting preferred
