Description Clinical Research Financial Navigator - VICTR This is a full-time/exempt term position lasting six months to one year. Your Role Seeking an enthusiastic, intellectually curious self-starter with clinical research knowledge and experience to join our support services team. In your pivotal role as a Clinical Research Financial Navigator, you will work closely with your team to support responsibilities that have expanded in response to eStar (EPIC health record) research requirements and centralized support initiatives to meet the needs of the Vanderbilt research community. You will provide support services related to the eSMART research portal, eStar, clinical trial budgeting, reconciliation, VHC-monitor access, and eStar research security, to researchers and their teams. You will assist with billing plan and budget development and negotiation and be involved in contributing to content, processes and testing of researcher-oriented software improvements (eSMART); managing reminders aimed at improving compliance with eStar billing and research documentation requirements; contributing content for and participating in informational, educational and training sessions and providing other related services. You will be an integral part of a collaborative effort with the Department of Finance Clinical Trials Billing Compliance, eStar Training, the Vanderbilt Coordinating Center, VICTR Research Support Services, the Cancer Center and other research departments, to assist research staff in understanding and applying best practices and participating in optimization initiatives. In collaboration with the VU Human Research Protections Program(IRB), the a Clinical Research Financial Navigator assists with the optimal application of the Federal, State, and local laws, guidance documents, VU Institutional policies, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies and procedures while meeting the objectives of the VU research community. Consults on complex research and regulatory issues in conjunction with the team(s) to identify solutions and develop improvement processes. The Clinical Research Navigator researches topics of departmental, institutional or strategic importance.
