Description Summary: The Director of Patient Access establishes and coordinates all aspects of the Admission process to facilitate an efficient and customer-friendly atmosphere, in line with the mission, core values, and design of CHRISTUS. The Patient Access Director is responsible for oversight of inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department registrations; time of service collections; screening for financial assistance; scheduling of patient procedures; and referral, insurance verification, and pre-certification processes for hospitals. The Director assures development of a high-performance work team through coaching, mentoring, and regular briefings. Responsible for analysis of performance metrics to improve process performance. Maintains all levels of the Admission process in conjunction with JCAHO standards and HIPPA regulations. Develops and maintains working relationships with physicians and office staff, as well as other customers within and outside Requirements: ·Bachelor's degree. Note: External candidates possessing an Associate's degree will be considered if actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree. Internal non-degreed associates may be considered if actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree; degree must be obtained within 5 years of hire date. ·Skills to develop root cause and corrective actions for teams (can be trained within 3 months of hiring). ·Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to present and explain information to customers in a desired manner consistent with procedures. ·Must have practical experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Applications. ·Ability to lead teams, mentor and support development of resources.
