The Section of Pediatric Psychology at RUMC in collaboration with the Section of Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics is seeking to fill one post-doctoral fellowship for the 2021-2022 academic year. The fellowship is a one-year combined clinical and research position. The possibility exists to extend the position to a two-year fellowship--contingent upon funding.

Clinical responsibilities include outpatient comprehensive cognitive and psychological evaluations of children referred by developmental-behavioral pediatrics with a variety of genetic, developmental and medical conditions. Additionally, the fellow will conduct psychological assessment in the Multidisciplinary Autism Diagnostic and Follow-up Clinic for children ages 0-3. The multidisciplinary team includes a developmental-behavioral pediatrician, psychologist and speech-language pathologist. Other responsibilities include developmental and cognitive testing for clinical trials and the possibility of group and individual outpatient psychotherapy for children with a variety of behavioral concerns and developmental concerns and/or medical morbidities. The fellow will be involved in ongoing clinical research with these populations. The fellow will have an opportunity for independent research/program development. Supervision will be provided by licensed clinical psychologists on faculty. Competitive annual salary with excellent benefits. Start date is July 2021 with some consideration/flexibility.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, or comparable degree, from an APA-accredited graduate program and have completed their internship prior to starting the position. Previous clinical and research experience with children is required. Bilingual-English-Spanish applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Competitive candidates will have excellent clinical skills including previous experience with psychological evaluation of children with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders, children with a variety of medical diagnoses and general child/adolescent outpatient psychotherapy experience. Interpersonal flexibility and the sense of entrepreneurship necessary for program development are also considered to be important.
