This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and monitoring of the patient centered care improvement initiatives throughout the Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH) and Memorial Hermann (MH) partnerships, USPI inpatient departments, and USPI emergency departments. The director develops and monitors a strategic plan for both collaboration and education for patient experience, leveraging evidence-based best practices. This includes creating programs, action plans, and interpreting and segmenting nationally reported value-based purchasing patient experience and HCAHPS/OAS CAHPS data.
Researches, identifies, and implements strategies to improve patient outcomes utilizing resources to educate, plan, and implement outcome based strategies.
Understands, analyzes, and translates statistical patient experience results, allowing identification of best practice and performance improvement initiatives.
Leads the development and deployment of consistent education for patient experience using innovative and effective training approaches.
Monitors the process and outcomes related to improving patient experience, identifies challenges and barriers, and coordinates resolutions to overcome barriers in collaboration with key team members and stakeholders to ensure success.
Promotes and maintains a strong service culture throughout the market via service education directed at experience across the continuum of care.
Coaches and mentors staff who have patient contact in order to improve their ability to achieve higher levels of patient experience.
Deals effectively with change and supports others in learning to overcome barriers.
Collaborates with Baylor Scott & White Health and Memorial Hermann on best practices for patient centeredness. Provides quarterly communication to leadership on improvement process measures and project timelines/progress.
Consults with leaders in the development of strategies to improve the patient experience; identifies best practice and opportunities for improvement, and works collaboratively with leaders and staff. Assists with staff education on improving patient experience opportunities.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of quality improvement, clinical outcomes and medical terminology in hospital and ambulatory surgery center operations.
Recent work experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center with a history of leadership in improving the systems and processes to enhance the patient experience including positively influencing others to achieve quality outcomes.
Analytical ability to perform audits, develop educational materials, and develop strategic plans.
Interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of facility and medical staff.
Strong communication skills to provide quality, sophisticated levels of service.
Strong leadership skills, such as coaching and mentoring team members with a heavy focus and dedication in skill development. The ability to coach and mentor teams to improve stakeholder experience.
Ability to communicate effectively with all key stakeholders through written, verbal, and electronic communication.
Ability to draw insightful impressions from objective data and other forms of investigation to identify processes in need of improving.
Registered Nurse required. Must have Bachelors in health care related field.
Approximately 70% required travel within the Dallas/Fort Worth and Houston area
