The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking a Research Compliance Administrator to join our team of professionals.
Oversees the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Institutional Bio Safety Committee (IBC) submissions for Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM), in collaboration with the respective Principal Investigators (PI¿s). Maintains compliance with local, regional, state, federal and university guidelines.
Manages the submission of quarterly and yearly reports required by the National Institute of Health (NIH) and other funding agencies.
Ensures HWCOM principal investigators adhere to deadlines of quarterly and yearly reports as required by the funding agency.
Educates the HWCOM research community through trainings, web site development, and dissemination of formal and informal guidance. Participates in workshops and trainings provided by the Division of Research.
Provides guidance and expertise on research policies, procedures, and regulations to Principal Investigators (PIs) and other personnel in HWCOM.
Coordinates, completes, and oversees the completion of various institutional, agency, state and federal reports, questionnaires, and surveys, such as annual progress reports for all the active grants in HWCOM in collaboration with HWCOM PIs.
Serves as a liaison with internal and external entities for research related matters and develops initiatives to foster collaborations within FIU, clinical partners, and other academic institutions.
Maintains and documents Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and Institutional Bio Safety Committee (IBC) submissions and protocols and communicates with principal investigators on renewal and required amendments.
Liaises with the Office of Research and Economic Development (ORED) to ensure that HWCOM Research is conducted ethically and in accordance with applicable regulations and guidelines.
Performs related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of relevant experience with one (1) year of research grant management.
Master's degree in a related discipline preferred.
Institutional Bio Safety Committee (IBC) and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) regulatory experience required.
