The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is searching for a Gynecologic Oncologist to join a thriving team of eight faculty and four advanced practice providers.
The preferred candidate starting level is Assistant Professor or Associate Professor based on qualifications.
There is an expectation that the incumbent devote approximately 50% their professional effort to patient care including outpatient clinics, surgical procedures and participation in the on-call system.
Clinical responsibilities include participating in the care of gynecologic cancer patients at the UW Hospital and Clinics (UWHC) and all four affiliated and outreach hospital locations, including full-time call for in-patient gynecologic cancer consults and service at UWHC.
The incumbent will participate in opportunities for community service at the department, school, and institution levels appropriate to the faculty rank.
Preferred candidate will be a strong gynecologic surgeon and clinician whose practice will be 50% clinical and 50% research oriented.
Leadership, management, operational skills and knowledge associated with a clinical and research office is necessary.
The incumbent will have a demonstrated interest in academic work as it relates to the division, which will include 50% effort in unique research platform in gynecologic cancers as well as teaching programs related to medical students, residents and fellows.
The ideal candidate is expected to initiate and participate in research studies, as well as quality and outcome programs related to the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the subspecialty of Gynecologic Oncology.
Additional responsibilities include teaching fellows, resident physicians and medical students; participation in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.
MINIMUM YEARS AND TYPE OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:
Completion of a four-year approved/accredited residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Completion of three-year approved/accredited fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology.
Candidates should have laparoscopic gynecologic oncology experience.
Completion of at least 3 years of independent clinical practice preferred.
Completion of at least 3 years of research in established research platform preferred.
Candidates for Associate Professor (CHS) or Professor (CHS) must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.
A requirement of this position is that 50% of the applicant’s time be devoted to a new and unique research platform in gynecologic cancers and 50% devoted to clinical productivity. The successful applicant will also contribute approximately 50% of their effort to a demonstrated and unique research platform of in gynecologic cancers.
LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE:
Eligible for Wisconsin medical license.
Board certified or eligible Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Board certified or eligible in Gynecologic Oncology.
The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring eligibility for employment in the United States on or before the effective date of the appointment.
