Duke Anesthesiology - Division Chief, Pain Medicine
The Department of Anesthesiology at Duke University Medical Center is seeking exceptional candidates to apply for the position of Chief, Division of Pain Medicine. The ideal candidate will be an accomplished academic anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist of regional and national prominence who will be responsible for advancing the department’s mission and vision in the field of pain medicine.
The Division of Pain Medicine, Duke Anesthesiology is one of the leading pain medicine programs in the nation. Our world-renowned faculty provide comprehensive, cutting edge care for patients with acute and chronic pain in six outpatient pain programs and dedicated inpatient and perioperative pain services.
The Division Chief of Pain Medicine will:
Lead Inpatient and outpatient clinical operations in pain medicine to ensure excellent patient care with a focus on outcomes.
Develop the strategic growth plans for the division and participate in health system pain initiatives
Foster effective collaboration among divisional faculty and referring providers
Facilitate medical education for medical students, residents and fellows in pain medicine and provide oversight for Duke’s ACGME accredited Pain Medicine Fellowship
Enhance faculty development opportunities.
Lead innovative scholarship in pain medicine
Promote leading edge research and cultivate an environment of academic curiosity and collaboration
Provide programmatic excellence in population health outcomes through evidence and value-based care to optimize inpatient, outpatient, and community-based approaches.
