On behalf of the Department of Pediatrics, the Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital and the SUNY Upstate Medical University, located in Syracuse, New York, AMN Leadership Solutions (formerly MillicanSolutions), the national leader in pediatric and physician executive search, has initiated a national search to identify candidates to serve as a transformational leader and direct the Section of Pediatric Critical Care as Chief, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine.
The Chief will have the goal of advancing the field of Pediatric Critical Care medicine through patient care, practice innovation, research, and education. The Chief will serve as a role model for professionalism in the Section, the Department, and the interactions with SUNY Upstate Medical University and Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital partners, referring physicians, families, and the community, promoting positive relationships, excellent responsiveness, and exceptional patient focused care. The new Division Chief will be responsible for the comprehensive operations of the Section and the clinical services of the PICU.

New Simulation Center with approximately 8600 square feet, the Center offers specialized rooms for skills and task training, immersive patient care simulation, and debriefing simulated sessions.
The incoming Chief will lead and support the quality improvement, clinical, academic and research goals set by SUNY Upstate Medical Center and the Department of Pediatrics.
The candidate must be board certified in Pediatric Critical Care. Previous Pediatric Critical Care leadership experience highly desired. The compensation and academic rank will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
The Department of Pediatrics/Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital has 45-residents in its ACGME
5-year accredited training program. It has pioneered a number of graduate medical education initiatives and is branching into new programs such as refugee medicine and global health.
Organized into ten sections, the Department of Pediatrics at Upstate Medical University has a long and rich history of excellence in education, clinical care, and has made highly significant contributions in research.
