Conducts and supervises a research and support program in bioinformatics, computational biology, quantitative genomics or related field, working closely with Geisinger researchers. Responsible for the scientific nature and direction of bioinformatics service and research as part of a bioinformatics team, and for the relevant scientific content of grant applications and manuscripts when appropriate. Provides bioinformatics support, as a consultant or collaborator, to other Geisinger scientists, physicians and investigators. As appropriate provides research training for students, post-doctoral fellows, residents and physicians.
Directly accountable to the Associate Chief Scientific Officer, Research and will be based at the Geisinger Research North Bethesda facility in North Bethesda, MD.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
PhD in biological sciences, bioinformatics, computational biology or related discipline.
Minimum of 10 years relevant experience in a variety of research, health, and industry settings.
