Dartmouth-Hitchcock Department of Radiology, in conjunction with the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, is seeking a full-time BC/BE Breast Imaging Radiologist with fellowship (or equivalent) training in breast imaging and experience in administration to join our established service and lead a team of 5 radiologists. This full-time faculty position is for an individual with a strong interest in teaching and research. The candidate will join an academic state-of-the-art subspecialty breast imaging section and perform a full spectrum of breast imaging diagnosis and intervention including digital mammography (with Breast Tomosynthesis), breast ultrasound and breast MRI and related interventions. The successful candidate will be responsible for Section Chief responsibilities including MQSA and ACR accreditation and staff administration. Ideally the candidate will have skills and experience in other areas of Radiology but it is not a requirement. Daytime/evening weekend call responsibilities will be dependent on skill set. The Breast Imaging staff are actively involved in the supervision and teaching of our radiology residents, medical students, fellows and learners from other departments. This section works closely with related clinical services.
Successful candidates will become integral member of the NCI-designated Norris Cotton Cancer Center (NCCC) Comprehensive Breast Care Program which combines radiology, surgery, oncology, pathology, and radiation oncology. As one of only 51, NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers nationwide, NCCC houses robust research programs spanning molecular oncology, machine learning, health services research, and advanced imaging technologies. We are committed to improving healthcare through excellence in image-based clinical care, education of future radiologists, and translational research for imaging.
Multiple research opportunities are available in the NCCC as well as with other collaborators in The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice, the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, and the Thayer School of Engineering. The candidate will be eligible for an academic appointment through the Geisel School of Medicine at a rank commensurate with qualifications and will be provided with protected academic time for teaching and research. The successful candidate will join an academic practice comprised of 40 radiologists. Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is the only academic medical center in New Hampshire, providing tertiary care services for our region, and serving as the only Level 1 trauma center in the state. State-of-the-art imaging equipment includes an all-digital complement of Hologic Selenia™ systems, 6 MRI scanners, four CT scanners, PET/CT and 7 US machines. The radiology department also provides teleradiology and on-site coverage for multiple affiliated hospitals throughout New Hampshire and Vermont.
