The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (also known as the Jones Eye Institute) is seeking an outstanding fellowship-trained Glaucoma Ophthalmologist for a position as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. The candidate should have an MD or DO degree, and be board certified by or board eligible for the American Board of Ophthalmology.
The Jones Eye Institute is a nine-story, state-of-the-art building on the campus of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. JEI offers the opportunity to teach, perform research and build an excellent university-based clinical and surgical practice. Facilities include 71 lanes, 4 dedicated operating rooms, a 10,000 sq. ft. basic science research laboratory, retinal and ocular genetics center, eye bank, surgical simulation and education center, and a fully accredited Ophthalmic Medical Technology program. JEI is home to the only Ophthalmology Residency in the state of Arkansas. Patient care is provided at the University Hospital and at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Candidates applying for the Associate Professor or Professor position may be eligible for the John W. Nutt Chair in Ophthalmology. Interest from the endowed chair may be used for research and education in the field of Glaucoma, and for salary support.
