Chief: New Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
About the Position
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) School of Medicine in Lubbock, Texas is recruiting for a Division Section Chief for our newly approved Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Division and residency. We are looking for an experienced and energetic Board Certified PMNR colleague, who enjoys direct patient care, teaching medical students and residents, to start our fully funded Residency PMNR Program. TTUHSC is the largest tertiary care in West Texas and we staff two Level 3 Trauma Centers, the busiest Stroke Center in the region and very active Orthopedic, Neurosurgery and Traumatic Brain Injury services. This position has the full support of the local PMNR, Neurology and Pain Management colleagues. The PMNR Division and residency will be based at our largest rehabilitation facility, Trustpoint Rehabilitation Hospital, a 93-bed inpatient facility and the recently renewed, five-acre Transitional Learning Center that provides comprehensive post-acute brain injury rehabilitation. TTUHSC is a physician led integrated system and the new Chief of the Division of PMNR will help to define the goals of the new Division, inspire our students and residents and do something remarkable every single day.

Board Certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Recent, three years of participation as an active faculty member in an ACGME-accredited physical medicine and rehabilitation residency program.
Previous administrative and educational experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

About TTUHSC Graduate Medical Education
For over 40 years, the TTUHSC School of Medicine has developed GME programs to provide excellent residency and fellowship training and serve a diverse and expansive patient population. The Lubbock campus has 25 ACGME-accredited and three TMB-approved GME programs with over 290 residents and fellows. With a focus on addressing the physician workforce needs of West Texas and with the support of the healthcare community of Lubbock, the GME operation has established 12 new programs and increased the school’s total residency complement by 43% over the last 10 years.
